Foxit Releases New Firmware for eSlick

November 03, 2009 -- FREMONT, Calif., BUSINESS WIRE --

Foxit, a leader in e-document technology for mobile, desktop and on demand platforms, is announcing the release of firmware 2.0 for its popular eReader device, eSlick.

More Reading Formats Means More Content

In its continuing effort to be the electronic reader of choice, Foxit is expanding eSlick's support for more reading formats. eSlick customers will now be able to view documents in ePub and eReader (PDB) in additional to previously supported PDF and Text formats. The support for ePub and eReader enable customers to read books downloaded from any website which supports these reading formats.

New Firmware is Packed with Exciting Features

The new firmware adds additional features to improve the overall customer experience. eSlick users will be able to view images in GIF, EMP, JPEG, and PNG formats. The on-screen virtual keyboard enables users to enter text. Text entering ability is necessary to unlock documents that have password protection. 'Releasing of eSlick firmware 2.0 shows our commitment to existing and future customers that we will continue our innovation and development to improve user experience of eSlick devices,' says Eugene Y. Xiong, President of Foxit.

To further simplify and manage large ebook libraries, a folder option has been added. Customers can create folders to house your books in categories and folders of your choice. Customers can also name, copy, move and delete folders. Finally, Foxit has added a bookmark option. The user can stop reading at any point, place a bookmark and be able to return to the bookmark at a later time.

Starting at the end of November, all eSlick devices will come with version 2.0 of the firmware preinstalled. Existing eSlick customers will be able download this firmware for free from the eSlick page on www.foxitsoftware.com.
