Liliana Nigrelli Honored as Diversity and Inclusion Award Finalist for Five Star’s Keystone Women in Housing Leadership Awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Churchill Mortgage, a leader in the mortgage industry providing conventional, FHA, VA and USDA residential mortgages across 46 states, announced that its Chief Compliance Officer, Liliana Nigrelli, has been named a finalist for The Five Star Institute’s Keystone Women in Housing Leadership Awards for “Diversity and Inclusion.” Nigrelli was recognized for her contributions and efforts towards diversifying the national lender.

These awards honor the tremendous achievements of female business leaders within the housing and mortgage servicing industries across five different categories, including Rising Business Leader, Culture Leader, Community Leadership, Diversity & Inclusion, and Laurie A. Maggiano Legacy. Finalists were honored at the annual Women in Housing Banquet, now in its eighth year.

“In this demanding business, the skill, service, and commitment of, not only these finalists, but of all the nominees strengthens and inspires our industry,” Ed Delgado, Chief Executive Officer of The Five Star Institute said. “It is my privilege to honor these women professionals at this high–level for their personal contributions and successes.”

With more than 30 years of real estate lending industry expertise, Nigrelli is responsible for overseeing the entire compliance department; recommending, developing and implementing new compliance processes and procedures; documenting control and conducting testing to ensure compliance; and keeping track of relevant developments in regulations for the industry. She has previous experience as a title insurance agent, closing manager, law clerk, office manager and compliance manager. She also worked as a business architect for a loan origination system software development firm and holds a strong technical background.

“It is vital that industry leaders recognize that diversity begins with recruitment. While every organization wants to hire the best candidates based on skills and experience, diversity must remain a priority throughout the recruitment process,” said Nigrelli. “Companies who recognize this as a key factor in the hiring process are more successful because of the increased efficiency, better employee engagement and strong customer service.”

Nigrelli continued, “Becoming the first immigrant, female C-suite executive in our company has been one of my proudest achievements. Providing representation in our executive team for others is so important for employee engagement, and I am proud to be a part of a leadership team that sets an example from the top down. I’m honored to represent Churchill Mortgage and be recognized as a finalist for The Keystone Women in Housing Leadership Awards.”

“We are incredibly proud of Liliana’s achievements that lead to her being honored by The Five Star Institute,” said Mike Hardwick, President and Chief Executive Officer of Churchill Mortgage. “As a key member of our executive team, Liliana demonstrates Churchill Mortgage’s core values, creating an environment of inclusion and acceptance in the workplace.”
